Meet our expert team
Adam is the proud founder of Juicy Miles LLC and loves helping others travel for free. His obsession with points and miles began during his freshman year at college. After browsing Flyertalk and Mileage Workshop, Adam pulled the trigger and signed up for his first Citibank AAdvantage credit card and MCI phone line (25,000 mileage offer). Back then, both deals were churnable and in no time at all, the college freshman had enough miles to travel to Europe and Asia in First Class for free, multiple times. Needless to say, he was hooked! Fast forward a few years and Adam of course ended up in a job with a travel requirement…which meant extra miles for awards! He continued educating himself on the mileage game and took some pretty incredible trips each year, including a family vacation every December…all with miles. As his colleagues and friends started to hear about and see pictures from his trips, they wanted in and Adam began to assist them with their bookings, Juicy Miles was born. Adam is also the author of the Point Me to the Plane blog on BoardingArea. Adam’s favorite award trips from 2014 include his Singapore / Cathay Pacific First Class trip to Bali, Thailand, and Hong Kong as well as his First Class Emirates Shower Suite A380 experience to the Maldives. Adam covers American / oneworld, United / Star Alliance, and Delta / SkyTeam bookings.
Welcome to our newest team members:
Amanda is from South Florida where she is driving her family insane with her obsessive point collecting habits. In between planning excessive trips, paid for by points and miles, she manages real estate investments. She has taken her family across most countries in Europe, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Peru, and most recently to French Polynesia/Marquesas Islands. She specializes in booking trips with multiple passengers – particularly on oneworld and Star Alliance carriers.
Cliff is an in-house CPA based in Los Angeles and fluent in English and Mandarin. As an accountant, he’s addicted to earning the most miles/points value for every transaction and analyzes each every mile or point earned or burned. Since qualifying for American Airlines Executive Platinum status in 2013 and experiencing long-haul premium cabin upgrades, Cliff has subscribed to the earn and burn mantra so that he can travel the world in style. His most memorable trip was the multi segment LAX-LHR-PRG-MUC-DOH-MLE-AUH-JFK-LAX itinerary to paradise in the Maldives where he experienced Etihad’s First Apartment and the Qatar A350…all with points. Cliff specializes in oneworld (AA) and Star Alliance (UA, SQ, ANA) bookings.
Cobi grew up in California and just graduated from university with a bachelor’s in chemistry. He is currently taking a gap year to travel and apply to graduate school. He started collecting points in 2014, which has allowed him to travel extensively despite his college student budget. He specializes in transferable points and finding creative routings that minimize taxes and surcharges. His favorite award redemption was in 2015, when he used miles to fly to India and back in an Etihad First Apartment and shower at 40,000 feet! After showing the photos to friends and family, he quickly became their adviser for all things airline-related. Cobi is currently living in London and uses his collection of points and miles to travel around Europe and visit his family in California.
Diogo is a former employee of a major US airline, where he worked in revenue management, pricing, and network planning. His passion for miles & points started in 2011 with a desire to experience virtually every first class product possible. This hobby led him to fly more than 100k miles a year to 62+ countries, making him a pro at dealing with even the toughest call centers. His favorite awards include redeeming Alaska miles for 5 segments/showers in Emirates Suites, as well as flying Singapore Suites to take the long way home from New Zealand (AKL-SIN-FRA-JFK). He specializes in RTW trips and crafting credit card strategies to hack the most aspirational redemptions. He currently resides in NYC and works in the banking industry. Diogo is fluent in English, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
James is currently a structural engineer based in Philadelphia, PA. He was introduced to points and miles in 2012 by a friend and has been obsessed ever since. Every summer since then, he has gone on several major trips with his wife to destinations all over the globe in business and first class. In the summer of 2016, James and his wife took a once in a lifetime seven week trip to Europe, Asia, and Australia with long haul flights in first class cabins on British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, and Japan Airlines. As much as he loves booking premium cabin trips for his wife and himself, he enjoys helping others book their dream trips and hearing how awesome their trip was. Living in Philadelphia (and the DC area before that), he specializes in award via AAdvantage and United Mileage Plus programs, but also loves to utilize Singapore Krisflyer, Korean Air Skypass, and British Airways Avios.
Jeremy resides in Dallas, Texas where he holds a US government position. He’s been a member of the miles/points community since the days of the US Mint and US Airways Grand Slam promotion. He loves to help friends and his entire family travel cheaply. He’s especially proud that he was able to use the old stopover rules from American Airlines to create a double honeymoon to travel to both Hawaii and Europe on the same fare and in only premium cabins, his wife was especially impressed. He specializes in redeeming points with Alaska, American, Delta, Southwest, United, and all the major foreign carriers who are partners with AmEx and Chase.
Kevin is currently working to get his BBA in Finance and Information Systems from Loyola University in Chicago. Kevin has enjoyed flying ever since his first international flight on a Northwest 747. He became intrigued with miles and points when he started college and was able to take mileage runs and rack up miles and points through credit cards. His first big redemption was British Airways and American First Class to Europe and more recently Cathay Pacific and Singapore to Asia. Kevin’s favorite destinations include Paris, Nice, Geneva, and Tokyo. Of course, traveled to using miles and points.
Michael is currently attending Stanford University, but still finds time to devote research to his points/miles passion. He has extensive experience with award reservations, points and miles currencies, and mileage valuation. In addition to his work experience, Michael has used the technical skills acquired at Stanford to create a program that compares mileage redemption possibilities dynamically across different currencies. He’s also currently working on a fuel dumping algorithm!
Ryan is based in Dallas, Texas and is “one of the biggest travel nerds out there”! He loves to travel constantly, including last minute trips – like Hong Kong for the weekend or Germany for Thanksgiving. Ryan has a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and currently hits 180K plus paid miles per year. He has been an American Airlines Executive Platinum for the past 6 years, a United 1K from 2008-2011, and a Delta Platinum for the last ten years. Ryan is familiar with all award programs, but loves to focus on the Singapore KrisFlyer sweet spots.
Stephen is a fourth-year medical student pursuing a career in anesthesiology. He has been involved with the frequent flier community and the points and miles game since college, and in this time has had the great fortune of experiencing some of the world’s top premium cabin products, including first class on the Emirates A380, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, and Thai Airways, as well as Singapore Suites and the Etihad A380 Apartments. Whether sitting in a 31″ pitch coach seat or sitting up front eating lobster thermidor, Stephen loves everything about aviation and is both a close follower of the industry and a budding pilot.
Plus our incredibly talented and highly skilled existing booking consultants…
Andrew is an actor and classically trained singer living in NYC. Love of travel was fostered in him at a young age by his mother, a high-school German teacher. After accompanying her on several exchange trips to Europe, Andrew realized that there was far too much of the world to see for him to sit around in the Midwest! He also realized on his first 14.5 hour flight from ORD-DOH that doing all this travelling in coach wasn’t going to be as much fun as he liked! Andrew is a veteran of the travel game, having formerly worked for a high-end travel consultancy, and knows the ins-and outs of routing and redemption. He is looking forward to his upcoming trip to Japan in first/business class – all booked on points, of course.
Avi currently works as a process engineer in Virginia. Apart from visiting and exploring new places, he likes to run, hike and play badminton. Avi has travelled to several European and Asian countries in first and business class cabins thanks to points and miles. His favorite redemptions to date are long haul first class flights on Emirates and Etihad. Avi has earned most of his miles through manufactured spending and credit card sign-ups and has redeemed them to some of his dream destination spots like Santorini, Norway and Alaska.
Brian is currently attending Harvard Law School but “is more interested in finding the most generous legal routings using points and miles”. He uses the hobby to de-stress between exams, papers, and projects. Brain hit his 37th country in 2015 and hopes to reach 50 in 2016 (just in time for graduation). Brian specializes in multiple programs including United MileagePlus, Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, and Delta SkyMiles (he grew up in the ATL). His most recent redemptions were first class flights on Singapore, Cathay, and Lufthansa.
Chase got his start in college working directly for an airline and loved it so much that he turned the airline IT field into his career. In high school he participated in two foreign exchanges to Europe and the desire to travel set in at that point. From there he’s visited every populated continent and has no plans to stop anytime soon! Being frugal and analytical is his specialty, all the while going for the most aspirational rewards as possible. Creativity is his weapon and he misses the opportunities US Airways miles once gave him (DEN-ORD-HKG-DOH-JNB-CPT-JNB-DOH-PHL-ORD-DEN on one J award anyone?). His fondest travel memory was the first time he flew a 747 in the upper deck; he couldn’t sleep the whole flight as he wanted to take in the whole experience! Being obsessed with travel on points, he has a broad knowledge of many programs, with emphasis on Oneworld and Star Alliance bookings.
Christopher was first bitten by the travel bug on a trip to Japan, Korea, and the Philippines in 2006 as he worked as a freelance musician. Travel required Chris to go back to Japan later that year and so he began researching how to fly in business class cheaply. In his search he discovered flyertalk and the rest is history. Christopher’s first major redemption with Delta SkyMiles was also his first time in long-haul business class and was sort of his rite of passage into the travel hacking world. On that trip he visited Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Shanghai. Christopher is the Juicy Miles Sky Team expert and he specializes in all redemption types including Round-the-World trips. He is currently based in the New York City area. Chris was also one of the first team members to join Adam on the Juicy Miles team.
Edward is from San Francisco and currently works in tech. When he’s not traveling around the world, he’s eating his way through a new city. His favorite destinations include Cape Town, Budapest, and Tokyo, and his favorite award redemption from 2013 took him from San Francisco to Beijing (SFO-IAD-NRT-PEK-FRA-JFK-SFO in ANA First Class and Lufthansa First Class on the A380 (where he was the only passenger) and 747. In 2014, he’s really excited for his SFO-HKG-BKK-HKG-ICN-JFK-SFO trip in Cathay Pacific First Class, Thai First Class, and Asiana First Class. Edward specializes in Star Alliance (United & US) and oneworld (AA) award bookings.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Enoch first turned left and climbed to the upper deck when he was 10, traveling to Seoul on Korean Air. He got his first travel credit card when he turned 18, began mileage running in college, and has never looked back since. He absolutely loves his premium cabin experience on Air China, ANA, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Lufthansa, TAP, Thai Airways, and United, etc., but sometimes, it’s hard to beat a short hop across Pennsylvania using Avios. Enoch is currently attending medical school in Philadelphia, and at the same striving to make sure the number of countries he has visited is always higher than his age (and to make sure others get to do the same)! Besides English, Enoch speaks Cantonese and Mandarin and can type Chinese.
Joel is currently based in Melbourne, Australia (MEL) completing a PhD in chemical engineering at the University of Melbourne. He’s proud of his antics attempting to wring every last bit of value out of working the system based on miles earned from credit card expenditure. Joel loves playing around with Star Alliance, but is diversifying into oneworld. Joel’s favorite award trips of 2013 include his July 2013 (MEL-AKL-SIN-KIX-GUM-NRT-PVG-AKL-MEL) and his Dec 2013 (MEL-SYD-BKK-HND/NRT-GUM-FUK-TPE-SIN-MEL)…though he’s partial to the December trip due to his experience in Thai First Class and the awesome time he had on the ground in Bangkok (BKK).
John grew up in Hawaii where his father built many of the hotels that have become island icons. He began flying with Delta over 52 years ago and continues to fly over 125,000 each year, still with Delta. Recently he also became an MVP Gold 75K Elite with Alaska Airlines and flies with them as well as American Airlines and several international carriers. John flew on the very first 747 flight from the USA and the last 747 under Northwest’s colors. Besides having a law and business degree, John is an international photographer and enjoys huge mileage runs to distance locales such as Southeast Asia, Latin America as well as some very complex domestic routes. He shares his travels often through posts to travel blogs. John is on the staff at RenésPoints blog and supplies Mileage Runs to René’s EliteMileageRuns. He continues to travel throughout the USA and Europe with his wife often and recently spent eight nights in Paris staying at two of the three premium Hyatt properties there; all absolutely free through SkyMiles and points.
Josh lives in Redmond, WA where he works as a contractor for a major software company in retail support & forecasting. Josh traveled a lot growing up, and while he loved seeing new cities, his fondest memory was getting to sit in the cockpit of a British Airways 747-200 flying from SFO-LHR when he was 7. It wasn’t until recently though, when he took his then girlfriend to Italy in 2013 to propose to her, that he discovered the world of miles and points. Since then, he’s booked numerous trips for friends and family, all the while saving up his own miles for a Round-the-World honeymoon (SEA-LAX-SIN-MLE-CMB-DOH-CPT-PLZ-CPT-JNB-DOH-ORD-SEA) with his new bride in early 2016. When he’s not de-stressing by researching new travel ideas & booking award flights, Josh can be found enjoying the outdoors, jogging, or playing at the dog park with his two dogs. Living in the Pacific Northwest, Josh is of course an Alaska Mileage Plan fan boy, but also specialized in United Mileage Plus, Singapore KrisFlyer, and American AAdvantage awards.
Joshua became obsessed with miles and points from an early age. He grew up in northern Wisconsin and currently works in Seattle in biological science. As a Pacific Northwest based flyer, he is very excited about Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, but he has flown on over 50 carriers worldwide ranging from Cathay Pacific to Qantas to Avianca (proving that Avianca is not just a frequent flyer program). When he’s not traveling, he spends his free time hiking in the Cascades mountains, kayaking Puget Sound, or trying new restaurants.
After six years on Wall Street at one of the top investment banking firms, Keith decided to “take a break” and is now pursuing his MBA at Stanford. He’s loving the west coast lifestyle and currently resides in Palo Alto. Keith is most happy using his semester breaks to travel around the globe on points and miles (a big change from the few hours he was given in each location when working in IB). In terms of points, Keith does not discriminate, but he’s a big AA / oneworld and UA / Star Alliance fan. Keith’s favorite award booking of 2013 included a trip to Australia via Asia and a return to SFO…with a free one-way to JFK for the holidays. Keith is also an avid mileage runner and was happy to once again qualify for AA Executive Platinum status through 2015.
A lawyer by trade, Miguel left the courtrooms behind for good in 2013, in order to open his own travel consulting business, PMM Travel Consulting, through which he simultaneously works for Juicy Miles as an award booker. Miguel became deeply involved in the points and miles world in 2010, after a trip in first class to Asia opened his eyes to the possibilities. Since then, he has earned millions of points and miles that have helped him raise his total number of countries visited to over fifty in six continents. Among the airlines flown by Miguel are Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Croatian Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Thai Airways, Japan Airlines, American Airlines, Qantas, Delta, British Airways, United Airlines, EgyptAir, Malaysia Airlines, Air France, Brussels Airlines, Swiss, Iberia, Aerolíneas Argentinas, Jetstar, and JetBlue. In addition to English, Miguel is fluent in Spanish and lives in Puerto Rico.
Nate hails from Cleveland where he grew up flying Continental to their transatlantic hubs onwards to Europe. He wasn’t paying for those flights though…beginning in 9th grade Nate was able to obtain credit card approvals (sometimes with the help of his parents) to explore Europe on school holidays. From college in Seattle, he expanded to Continental’s partners and took his first flights to Asia. He’s now been a mileage enthusiast for 16 years and specializes in UA / Star Alliance, LifeMiles, and AAdvantage redemptions.
Pete is Toronto born and bred and has never left…except for those frequent award trips each year. Pete grew up on Aeroplan and they “sponsored” his first three international trips (all in business or first). From Aeroplan it was an easy transition to multiple other Star Alliance partner programs and that is Pete’s current booking specialty. His favorite award destination is Santorini, Greece and his favorite program is currently Avianca’s LifeMiles.
Sarah’s day job might be in strategy and business consulting for a major retailer, but her passion is exploring the world…for free of course using points and miles. Sarah got into the game during college and since then has become obsessed with building more and more complex itineraries, trying to squeeze as much value as possible out of every award trip. 2013 was the year of Round-the-World itineraries for Sarah. Thanks to her generous six weeks of vacation (really), she was able to experience a RTW using both American and United. Sarah likes to earn and burn, but equally accumulates across all three alliances. She’s a big fan of Delta redemptions to Australia (not on DL metal of course) as her brother relocated there two years ago. Sarah currently resides in Chicago and is a United 1K member.
Sean is based in Washington, DC, where he works his “day job” as an analyst with the Federal government. As someone who was born and raised in an “airline family”, Sean has always been around travel and is fascinated with seeing the world, as well as the planes and ships that enable the masses to do so. Sean is an avid traveler who obsessively seeks out the best deals for flights, trips, and earning / burning miles to enable him to see the world. He is well-versed in booking awards with all the major US carriers and most of the international programs. Sean is the author of the Prior2Boarding / BoardingArea blog, Points, Planes and Passports where he chronicles his travels and shares his knowledge and experience about airlines, loyalty programs, points and miles. When he’s not working or planning the next trip (for him or others), Sean enjoys spending time with his fiancé and his other passion – Auburn Tigers football.
Seth is based in Maui, HI, where he relocated after falling in love with the island on an award trip. He now switches between using miles to continue west to Australia and Asia or back east to his hometown in CT. Seth sponsors trips for his family and friends to the islands using the miles he accumulates from credit cards. Seth was previously a university professor at UCLA. Seth focuses on Oneworld and Star Alliance redemptions.
Sloan is currently pursuing her MD at Washington University in St. Louis. She loves traveling almost as much as she loves medicine and says that award booking is her number one form of stress release – “it’s an all encompassing puzzle until you find that perfect award, I love it!” While studying Sloan has somehow found time to experience first class on Qatar, Thai, Lufthansa, Singapore, and Swiss…all with points and miles! Sloan specializes in American Express Membership Rewards, Oneworld, and Star Alliance award bookings.
Zain lives in Melbourne, Australia. He is big on manufactured spending and obtaining points for very little money. He has travelled to 20+ countries flying mostly business/first class products. Some of the airlines he has flown on include Lufthansa, Qantas, Emirates, Etihad, Qatar, Swiss, Cathay Pacific, Thai and Singapore airlines. He’s status obsessed as well – currently Oneworld Emerald, SkyTeam Gold and Star Alliance Gold (thanks to some help from status matching). Zain specializes in buying points through Avianca and Advantage and squeezing the most value out of these programs.
